LOCKDOWN SCIENCE EXPERIMENT
My mum had hand sanitiser on her hands. When she touched the receipt from the bank machine, it left her finger prints on it. But when she touched the receipt from the supermarket, it didn't leave her finger prints 😲 We think we might know why each receipt reacted differently, but I'm curious to know what other's think. Please leave a comment and let me know 😊
Hi Izanna, it's Mr Williams. What a great science experiment. I like that you used to different receipts to see if there would be any difference. Hmmmmm..... My guess is that they are made from different types of paper. I'm interested to know what you might think. Why is there finger prints on one but not the other?
ReplyDeleteHi Mr Williams, me and my mum talked about it and we think that maybe the reason might possibly be because the bank receipt has carbon in it, and the supermarket receipt does not.
DeleteHi Izanna
ReplyDeleteWell, you have got me thinking now! I think that maybe your Mum had wiped all the hand sanitizer on the bank receipt so by the time she touched the supermarket receipt there was none left on her hands. Tell me what your answer might be?
Hi Petra. Mum did reapply more hand sanitiser before touching the supermarket receipt. We think that the receipts reacted differently might be because the bank receipt has carbon in it and the supermarket receipt does not.
DeleteWell, you could be right. Well done on the experiment!
DeleteHi Izanna, You have got me thinking too?? Maybe receipts were made out of different paper? Did you investigate more about this? If you did what were the results.

Hi Mrs T. Me and my mum think that maybe the bank receipt has carbon in it and the supermarket receipt does not. That could be the reason why they reacted differently.
